Quick answers for this chapter

Is Liquid hard to learn?

No. If you know basic HTML, Liquid is mostly placeholders and simple if/for logic, similar to the PHP templates you may have seen.

Will code edits break theme updates?

Code edits aren’t carried over automatically when the theme updates. Keep changes small, in new files when possible, and write down what you changed.

Do I need the Shopify CLI?

Not for small edits. The CLI and GitHub become useful when you work on themes regularly or with a team.
