Before you start
Do I need to be a programmer?
No. If you can create folders and files, you can use Git. You’ll type a few commands, and each one is explained.
Is Git the same as GitHub?
No. Git is the tool on your computer that tracks changes. GitHub is a website that stores your Git projects online so you can back them up, share them and work with others.
Do I have to use the terminal?
This course uses the terminal because it works the same everywhere, and it’s less scary than it looks. VS Code’s built-in Git buttons are shown too.
What will I build?
Your portfolio site, tracked with Git, stored on GitHub and published live at a free github.io address.
