Before you start

Do I need to know HTML and CSS first?

Yes. JavaScript changes HTML and CSS, so you need to know the basics of both. The free HTML and CSS courses on this site cover them.

Is JavaScript hard to learn?

The basics are very learnable in a few weeks. It feels hard when you try to learn everything at once; this course goes one small step at a time.

Is JavaScript the same as Java?

No. They’re completely different languages that happen to have similar names.

What will I build?

An interactive landing page with a dark mode toggle, an FAQ accordion, a validated contact form and a live data section.
