Chapter practice task

Task: Build a clickable prototype and run three short usability tests

  1. Connect your landing page, a sign-up modal and a thank-you screen in a prototype.
  2. Add hover states and smart animate transitions.
  3. Write three tasks for testers.
  4. Test with three people, note problems and fix the top three.

By the end of this chapter

  • You can build realistic, shareable prototypes
  • You can run simple usability tests without a big budget
  • You improve designs based on evidence, not opinions

Quick answers for this chapter

How realistic should a prototype be?

Realistic enough for the questions you’re testing. Main flows and key states are usually enough.

How many testers do I need?

Five people usually reveal most major issues. Even three is far better than none.

Can I test with friends?

Yes, if they don’t know the project well. Ideally test with people like the real users.
